happy birthday, carson!

Carson amazes me more and more daily. He is very intelligent, has a kind heart, talented, the list goes on. I have had every single teacher he has had to tell me they wished all students were like Carson. I tell them to come home with me. He has his days like any other "tween." I smiled and hugged him as big as I could this morning and told him to have a great day. I had that lump in my throat the whole time. I got to work and turned in my letter of resignation and finally let the lump out.

Happy birthday, Carson- my first born. My angel. I will always hold a special bond with you like no other. Hope your day is fantastic! Did i mention he is 11?

Let me just tell you - Carson is not like me in many different ways. One being he is shy and the other being when he was younger he could not stand to take pictures so he would stare straight faced and not show his teeth. I wanted those little teeth that were pulled to show in his pictures and he showed them in one of all his 7 year old pictures we had made. ONE picture. Look at his beautiful blue eyes and hair. The last picture we would tell him to show us his muscles and this was a quick shot his MiMi took of it.

Around a year ago Perez put on his site about this amazing upcoming artist- I always go check them out. Afterall, he is in the know of most things. I checked her out and fell in love with her voice. This past Sunday I missed the VMA's but heard about this performance and this performance was why the ratings were so high this year. I am in Plato's closet and I hear this performance and what do you know it is the artist Perez was telling us all about. Adele. Her voice is like an angel. So calm and soothing. I will admit I had to hurry as soon as the song went off to get out of the store because it almost made me cry. Beautiful music and words are so close to my heart. S/O to a local.superwoman.

One of my good friends went through a tough time close to a year ago. She lost her husband and has two small children (now 11 months old & 2 years old) to raise and is 29 years old. A widow at 29 years old with two young children. Yes, you read that correctly. I want you to stop and think of where you were in your life at 29 years old. When something this tragic takes place in your life- you find out who your true friends are. And, that my peeps is who you keep close to your heart forever. The people that are there for you, the people that take time out of their crazy life and make you realize it will be okay. As I sat there staring at her at the funeral- all I saw were tears streaming down her face, sobbing. I thought to myself- how is she going to be able to do this on her own? Mind you - NONE of his family was at the funeral with the exception of his daughters (older). This was foreshadowing to how her life was about to be. Sure, she has her family here- they also have children and work. Having an infant and a 1 year old...at nigh time? at dinner? in the mornings? It honestly made me sick to my stomach to even think about. Even on my bad days- I still think of the obstacles she had to face and how she came through it. God doesn't put more on you that you can handle. I've heard this before however, sometimes don't you just want to look up and say, "um...? what is going on here?" You can do that but in the end, you will pull through it. Abbi is one of the strongest people I know (psychically and mentally). You deal the cards you are dealt and she did just that. Today, is a milestone - she is purchasing her new house by herself with her two babies. Again, all by herself. So, shout outs to you, Abbi - I am super excited for you & you continue to amaze me with your strong willed self.  You wear the S on your chest pretty well.

When you have red hair you are OFTEN asked, "where did you get that red hair from?" Carson's answer was always, "it's not red, it's ORANGE!" I love the fact in the below picture he is looking in the correct place but I am not. When he was 2 years old - he was telling an adult to double click on an icon to get to the screen he wanted to go to. He knew how to use the computer at the age of two. Yes, you read that correctly. He is very smart and I am not being partial. He reminds me of that all too often. When he was in pre-school they had Santa pictures. Yes, a reminder note was sent home. However, it was still warm outside. So, I dressed him in his spongebob outfit. He never told me he got pictures made that day only to realize it when I got the pictures back. I was so embarassed! I still to this day forget picture day at daycare with Griff. The funny part about it is - they actually put him on santa's lap with his matching spongebob t-shirt & shorts and thought I was okay with that? LOL.

I did some stalking today and found out something interesting. You see I only watch t.v. with no educational value and is totally not true. So, I didn't catch "The Voice" and who the winner was. After much research- I see Javier won. Hmmmm - name sound familiar? Check out this post. ;) What can I say - I am ahead of the times!
